The Daily Quiz makes use of Riddle’s embed placeholder feature. The embed placeholder is an empty Riddle slot that is filled programmatically from the Riddle backend. The Riddle creator can set a series of conditions to fill the placeholder with existing content. In this case we are loading a new Riddle with the tag “daily quiz” from a Riddle project each day at 9.30 am (German time)
The daily quiz is also connected to a leaderboard, which is only visible to logged-in readers.
This promotes account creation and log-ins from readers who can take the quiz without a login, but are required to log in to see their names on a leaderboard.
